Royal Cornwall Show
The big one. The Royal Cornwall Show is the county’s flagship agricultural event and has been running since 1793. It’s held over three days in early June at the Royal Cornwall Showground in Wadebridge, and it pulls in around 120,000 visitors across the three days.
If you’ve never been, picture a small town that appears for three days and then vanishes. There are around 1,000 trade stands, hundreds of livestock classes (cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, horses, poultry, pigeons, rabbits, bees, and rare breeds), a flower marquee, a cookery theatre, live music, and a woodlands area. The 2026 edition will host the Beltex English National Show and the British Charollais South West Feature Show, plus a new Interbreed Group of Three Championship for sheep breeders.
This is the show that most visitors to Cornwall in early June end up planning around, and it’s worth at least one full day if you want to see it properly. Plenty of people come for all three.

Liskeard Show
The Liskeard Show is one of the biggest one-day agricultural shows in the South West. The 2026 edition will be the 121st, and it takes place at the showground in Merrymeet, just outside Liskeard in east Cornwall.
The show covers all the usual livestock sections (cattle, sheep, horses, donkeys, poultry), a pig display marquee, a fun dog show, Young Farmers classes, and a Country Home Crafts section. There are over 160 trade stands on the field, plus the Cornish Food and Drink, Craft and Community, and Lifestyle Marquees. There’s a Countryside Area, Vintage Tractors, Classic Cars, an Education Area, a Small Animal Crescent, a bouncy castle, a funfair, and live music throughout the day.
It’s a proper full-day family event, and the early bird price makes it one of the better-value shows on the Cornish calendar.

Stithians Show
Stithians Show has been running since 1834 and is recognised as one of the largest one-day agricultural shows in the United Kingdom. It regularly attracts over 20,000 visitors, exhibitors, competitors, traders, and entertainers, all on one Monday in July.
The show takes place at the Stithians Showground, near Truro, on the day after Feast Sunday (the Sunday closest to 13 July). Competitive sections cover everything from cattle, sheep, horses, pigs, and goats through to fur and feather, show jumping, horticulture, and domestic arts. The Sunflower Trail for children, the Buskers’ Corner Pop-Up Festival, and the Main Stage live music line-up give it a properly festival-like feel alongside the agricultural core.
For West Cornwall locals, this is the agricultural show of the year. It tends to feel busier and more energetic than the day-to-day rhythm of the larger Royal Cornwall.

Camborne Show
The Camborne Show has been running since 1942 and was originally set up by the Holman family as a fundraiser for the Red Cross during the war. It’s a one-day show that celebrates Camborne’s rural heritage, and 2026 will be its 84th outing.
From 2025 the show moved to a new home at Gear Farm, on the outskirts of Camborne, around a 15 minute walk from the town centre. The classes include cattle (Guernseys, Holsteins, Devons, plus Young Farmers and Handlers), heavy horses, sheep, goats, caged birds, poultry, pigeons, and a fun dog show run by K9 Crusaders. The Horticultural Section, in partnership with the Kehelland Trust, covers vegetables, fruit, flowers, succulents, pot plants, and floral art.
It’s smaller than Stithians or the Royal Cornwall, which is part of its charm. Families with younger children often find it more manageable.

Launceston Show
The Launceston Show has been running since 1887 and bills itself as “where town meets country”. It takes place at Kennards House, three miles west of Launceston just off the A30, which makes it the easiest of the Cornish shows to reach if you’re driving from Devon or further afield.
You’ll find livestock classes for horses, cattle, sheep, and poultry, plus a Vintage section, over 200 trade stands, food tasting, Young Farmers games, a Floral Art Marquee, a children’s area with free face painting and a magician, and free entertainment in the Main Ring all day. The Bird Box Trail is free for kids and runs across the showfield.
It’s the latest of the major one-day Cornish shows in July and tends to be a fitting finish to the run of summer events.

Camelford Show
The Camelford Agricultural Show has been running since 1906 and 2026 marks its 118th edition. It’s held mid-week in August at Trevilla, Marshgate, just outside Camelford in North Cornwall.
It’s a traditional one-day country show. Livestock and agriculture sit at the heart of it, and the Grand Parade of prize-winning animals is the highlight of the afternoon. You’ll find sheep shearing displays, a heavy horse show, vintage vehicle collections, a dog show, cattle, sheep, and horse classes, a horticulture and handicraft section, and a good range of local food and drink. There’s also a designated charity each year. For 2026 the supported charities are Cancer Research UK (Camelford Branch), the Camelford and District Cardiology Group, and the Camelford Age Concern Bus.
The show returned in 2025 after a three-year pause due to rising costs, and the community turnout was strong. It’s a properly local agricultural show with a strong family feel.

Cornish Winter Fair
If you think the show season ends in August, the Cornish Winter Fair is the late-year addition you might not know about. It’s a two-day celebration of farming and food held indoors at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre in Wadebridge, and it includes the Wadebridge Prime Stock Show on the Saturday.
Over 150 trade stands cover food, drink, crafts, and Christmas shopping. There’s an educational discovery zone, a rare breeds exhibit, and Santa’s Grotto for the kids. The Prime Stock Show on Saturday is where local farmers compete with their finished cattle and sheep, and it’s a proper traditional pre-Christmas livestock event.
Best of all, entry and parking are completely free. It tends to draw over 10,000 visitors across the two days, and it’s a sensible way to combine farming heritage with a bit of festive shopping.
The Details
| Dates | Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2026 |
|---|---|
| Opening Times | Saturday 10am to 5pm (includes the Wadebridge Prime Stock Show). Sunday 10am to 4pm. |
| Location | Royal Cornwall Events Centre, Wadebridge, PL27 7JE |

| Dogs | Not suitable. The event is held primarily indoors and gets busy. |
Top tip: Saturday is the busier day because of the Prime Stock Show. If you’re going for the Christmas market side of things, Sunday is calmer.

Planning Your Visit: The Practical Bits
Cornish agricultural shows are outdoor events for the most part, and the weather can turn quickly even in July. A bit of preparation makes the difference between a great day and a soggy one.
Check the Weather Before You Set Off
Cornwall weather is famously unpredictable. The morning can start in fog and end in 24 degree sunshine, or vice versa. Always check the forecast for the specific show location the day before, not just “Cornwall” in general. The north coast and south coast often get noticeably different weather on the same day.
Met Office forecast for Wadebridge covers the Royal Cornwall Show and Cornish Winter Fair. For the others, search the Met Office site by postcode.
What to Wear and Bring
- Wellies or sturdy boots. Showgrounds are grass fields. After any rain they get muddy fast, especially around the livestock rings.
- Layers. Bring a fleece or jumper, even in July. The mornings can be cool and the wind picks up if you’re near the coast.
- A waterproof jacket. Don’t trust the forecast entirely.
- Suncream and a hat. Cornwall sunshine is stronger than people expect. A long day in an open field will catch you out.
- Cash and a card. Most traders take card now, but some smaller stalls and the funfair stalls are still cash-only.
- A reusable water bottle. Refill points are usually available.
- Snacks for kids. Show food is good but the queues at lunchtime can be long.
Parking and Getting There
All the main Cornish shows offer free on-site parking. Arrive early if you want to be close to the gates. The first hour after gate opening is usually fine. By 11am the closer car parks tend to be full and you’ll be walking from the overflow.
Public transport is workable for Stithians (the 36 bus from Truro runs to the showground) and Launceston (the free Little Red Bus shuttles from town). For the Royal Cornwall Show, the closest train station is Bodmin Parkway and you’ll need a taxi or a lift from there.
Food and Drink at the Shows
Every show has multiple food stands, a Taste of Cornwall area or equivalent, and bars. You won’t go hungry. Expect to pay show prices though, which are higher than the supermarket. Cornish pasties, ice cream, hog roasts, and cream teas are everywhere. The food and farming pavilions are also good for sampling local producers, and you can often buy direct from the stallholders for less than you’d pay in the shops.
Bringing the Dog
Most outdoor Cornish shows welcome dogs on leads. The Cornish Winter Fair is the exception because it’s held indoors. If you’re bringing a dog, keep it on a short lead near livestock, bring water, and don’t leave it in the car. Even on cooler days, a parked car gets warm fast.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is the Royal Cornwall Show 2026?
The Royal Cornwall Show 2026 runs from Thursday 4 June to Saturday 6 June, at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre in Wadebridge.
What’s the biggest agricultural show in Cornwall?
The Royal Cornwall Show is the largest, attracting around 120,000 visitors over three days. Stithians Show is the biggest one-day show, with over 20,000 visitors annually.
Which Cornish agricultural show is best for families?
All of them work well for families, but the Liskeard, Stithians, and Camborne shows tend to be the most family-focused with dedicated children’s areas, funfairs, and free activities. The Royal Cornwall Show has more for older children and teenagers, including the cookery theatre and live music.
Are dogs allowed at Cornish agricultural shows?
Dogs on leads are welcome at all the outdoor shows. The Cornish Winter Fair in November is indoors and dogs are not suitable. Always keep dogs on a short lead around livestock and away from food areas.
How much does the Royal Cornwall Show cost in 2026?
Online tickets for the Royal Cornwall Show 2026 are £26 per adult per day, £6.50 per child (4 to 15), and £59 for a family ticket (2 adults plus 2 children). Late entry after 3.30pm Thursday or Friday, or after 2.30pm Saturday, drops to £13 per adult and £4 per child.
Are tickets cheaper if I book in advance?
Yes, almost always. Liskeard, Launceston, and Stithians all offer early bird pricing that’s a few pounds cheaper than gate price. The Royal Cornwall Show charges the same online and at the gate, but online tickets save you the queue.
Is the Cornish Winter Fair free?
Yes. Entry and parking are completely free for both days. It’s an unusual one in that respect, since most agricultural shows charge a gate fee.
What happens if it rains?
All the shows run rain or shine. Livestock judging continues, the marquees stay open, and the trade stands carry on. Bring a waterproof and decent footwear and you’ll be fine. Refunds aren’t issued for weather.
Can I exhibit livestock at these shows?
Yes. Each show has its own livestock entry deadlines, typically several weeks before the show date. Check the entry page on the official show website for class lists, schedules, and entry forms. The Royal Cornwall Show’s entries close on 29 May 2026.
Are there agricultural shows in Cornwall after August?
After Camelford in mid-August, the next major one is the Cornish Winter Fair in late November. There’s a gap of around three months over autumn, which is when most agricultural societies are catching up on admin and planning the next year.
Planning a Stay Around the Shows?
If you’re travelling to Cornwall for the Royal Cornwall Show or Cornish Winter Fair, both are held in Wadebridge. Our luxury lodges at Dinham Creek are about five minutes from the Royal Cornwall Showground, which makes them well placed for show week.
The lodges sleep two to six guests, have private hot tubs, and the estate is gated and quiet, which is useful after a long day on your feet in a busy showground. Camelford is about 25 minutes north, and Launceston is around 45 minutes by road.
